Afro Dude is a chair designer and minor character who only appeared in Space Channel 5: Part 2.

Report 1: Ulala Back in Action!
Afro Dude first appears in the cutscene prior Report 1, where he can be seen relaxing at the Space Symphony, when the Rhythm Rouges attack and force him to dance, like everyone else in the ship.
Although Afro Dude appeared in the Report 1 cutscene, he can only be found and rescued in the Extra Mode version of Report 1. After the first dance battle against Shadow, (the one where Chef (green) and Bartender Girl are rescued) there will be a shooting segment where Afro Dude will eventually appear being forced to dance by the Rhythm Rogues. To save him, Ulala must memorize and copy the directions given by Shadow.
Just like every other rescued hostage, Afro Dude will follow and assist Ulala throughout the rest of the Report once he is saved.
Report 6: Purge’s T.V. Special
Afro Dude can be seen being forced to dance in the monitors of Purge's show, both in the normal and in the Extra mode version of the Report.
Other Appearances[]
- Sega Superstars: Afro Dude makes an appearance in the Space Channel 5 thematic mini game, being forced to dance by a Morolian. To rescue him, the player must beat the Morolian in a dance battle.

Trivia[]
- When saved, Afro Dude will thank Ulala with a "Merci!". He is one of the four characters to use French in the game.
