Proonk, also known as Pink Morolian, is a recurring enemy and minor character in the Space Channel 5 series.

History[]

Space Channel 5[]

Like all of the other Morolians, Proonk was brainwashed by Chief Blank and forced people from Earth to dance. In the opening cutscene of the game, Proonk was watching TV alongside Yaroo and Blib, when they are all brainwashed by a signal coming from their TV.

Report 1: Introducing...Ulala!/Report 2: Spaceship S.O.S.!

In the first two levels, multiple Proonks appear many times in the first two reports, as an enemy in dance battles and in shooting segments. During the dance battles, Ulala must memorize and copy Proonk's moves in order to defeat him. Similarly, in shooting segments, Ulala has to memorize and copy Proonk's commands to shoot him before he shoots her.

Report 3: Catch the Scoop!

In the third level, several brainwashed Proonks appear after Ulala and Jaguar defeating Morolian Monroe, when the TV on the Morolian Base turns on and starts sending a brainwashing signal to the Morolians. The Proonks surround Ulala and are about to force her to dance, but Ulala and Fuse realise the TV is brainwashing the Morolians and Ulala destroys it, freeing Proonk and the other Morolians from Blank's brainwashing control. When the Morolian Base starts self destructing, Ulala has to save Proonk as she escapes the Morolian Base.

Report 4: Evil in the Galaxy Revealed!

In the last report of the game, Proonk appears again, multiple times, in dance battles and shooting segments. However, when Proonk appears in shooting segments this time around, Ulala has to save him from the brainwashing control. Once he is saved, Proonk will join and assist Ulala throughout the rest of the Report.

Space Channel 5: Part 2[]

Proonk, under the name "Pink Morolian", returns to Space Channel 5: Part 2, where he makes small appearances throughout the game.

Cameos in Secret Moves

Proonk is one of the three Morolians that can appear when the player finds a secret command. When he appears, Proonk increases the view rating, typically ranging from 0.2 to 1%.

Proonk can appear in all of the Reports but the second one, as the Report 2 is the only one where the secrets aren't Morolians popping up on the screen.

Report 6: Purge’s T.V. Special

Proonk can be seen when everyone is combining energy to launch Purge into space, both in the normal and in the Extra mode version of the Report.

Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash![]

Report 1: Morolians Strike Back!

Proonk returns to the VR game, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash!, where him, along with other Morolians, invades the Spaceport 9 in the first Report, and forces people to dance. When Ulala, Roo and Kie arrive at the Spaceport 9, Proonk appears multiple times during dance battles and shooting segments. In order to defeat him, Ulala and the twins must copy the directions Proonk says.

After the Report ends, Glitter injects X Space Cells into Proonk and other Morolians off-screen, turning them into Othermoros. Proonk presumably appears as an Othermoro throughout the game.

Report 4: The Final Report

As an Othermoro, Proonk (along with many other Morolians) assist Glitter in the final battle of the game. Once the heroes defeat them, Proonk and the other Morolians are freed from Glitter's control. They join forces with the heroes and assist them at getting enough Groove Moxie to defeat the space organism once and for all. Once Glitter flees, Proonk celebrates like everyone else.

Miku's Far-Out Report

Proonk reappears as an enemy in the downloadable Hatsune Miku's level. Like in the first Report, Ulala, Hatsune Miku and the player must copy the commands Proonk says in order to defeat him.
